What is Drupal?

Drupal is the most popular open-source content management platform out there on the intarwebs. Drupal's installed base is measured in the hundreds of thousands of public sites and a large and thriving commercial ecosystem has emerged around the platform.

See some examples of pro-liberty sites and communities built using Drupal.

There exist well over 3,000 open-sourced add-on modules available for Drupal. Here is a list of some that might form a starting point for a Cypherpunk Drupal distribution and development platform:

  • Agora - a marketplace for digital contracts and private transactions.
  • Bitcache - a distributed content-addressable (CAS) storage system that makes it trivial to move & replicate data.
  • Digital Currency - Loom, Pecunix and Liberty Reserve payments integration for Drupal and Ubercart. Untraceable digital cash & digital gold.
  • Lockdown - essential security upgrades for information warfare.
  • OpenPGP - encrypt all e-mails sent out by Drupal.
  • TimeCert - third-party verified timestamps for digital contracts, etc.

Here are some other relevant modules that might also be of interest:

I've been working with Drupal now for about 4 years. This week I've managed my first successful attempt at a Multisite installation.

Hey Group,

I have installed a Drupal on the DGC Magazine web site and we are converting everything over to that CMS and dropping to old fashion html crap. Here is the new URL now under construction, http://www.dgcmagazine.com/dp/ we hope to have some room to add demo DGC type software that works with Drupal for visitors to try out or review so if interested, email me editor@dgcmagazine.com

Also if you know of any super modules or add-ons, I would appreciate the tips. My skype is 'digitalcurrency'

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from all of you and promoting your work.

Actually, the Fr33Labs group would seem to be pretty much what you were seeking, Mike.

Mike, you should certainly feel free to start a WP group. And yes, it might be useful for there to exist a more generic group as well, though the various cypherpunk mailing lists tend to cater to this in a less public way; over here at Fr33 Agents, the Fr33tech group could perhaps be a starting point.

I hate to be a butt head here. But I'm a Wordpress developer, and think we should have a general group for discussing Open Source/Tech issues for Liberty groups. I guess I could start a wordpress group but I'm a lover not a fighter.

I've yesterday released the first beta version of the OpenPGP module for Drupal. This module allows your Drupal site's users to upload their public key and then receive all future e-mails sent out by your site in encrypted form.

You can test out the functionality by registering at the Agorist Cadre and sending yourself a message using the Drupal contact form.
